HIV/AIDS Initiative - “Remember the Ribbon”
Our goal is to educate and counsel patients about HIV/AIDS.

Chronic Kidney Disease Initiative – “KEEP SAKE”
Our aim is educate the residents about how to safely and effectively take their medications as well as to answer any questions or concerns they may have about them. Many times medications are prescribed to patients without them being informed of important information regarding their therapy. This is a great way to reinforce and actually apply what you have learned to help another individual.

SNPhA presents Jenny Bute, PharmD and manager at K-Mart Pharmacy on 34th street in New York City, NY. She will be speaking about the role that pharmacist can play in counseling, adherence to medication regimens, and increasing awareness about HIV/AIDS.

Diabetes Initiative
A Health fair event for LIU students, staff and faculty where SNPhA members will participate in counseling, and teaching about Diabetes and its management.

Operation Immunization
This is a health fair that will be held in Riverbank State Park, NY. SNPhA LIU Chapter will be handing out health information and performing screenings. We will interact with members of the community by discussing health issues and answering any questions they may have about their medications. We will encourge the community to take charge of their own health and hope to motivate their self-efficacy. We will also be collaborating with other health professional students from Columbia University and NY College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The LIU Pharmacy Club fair is an event where pharmacy students sign-up to be members of diffeernt clubs and organizations.

This event took place at Walgreens to discuss immunization and proper administration of vaccinations. Additionally, members screened visitors for blood pressure.
2/3 - 2/5/2012, North Carolina.
Members of the LIU Chapter met with other colleagues of Region 1 and 2 in North Carolina. Here, they networked with other SNPhA members and exchanged ideas to enrich their professional knowledge.
February 2012, LIU Brooklyn Campus - Health Sciences Building
The LIU Chapter plays an active role in promoting awareness about smoking cessation and its benefits. Members of the chapter present counseling tips and guidelines on how to effectively quit smoking.
The LIU Chapter presented a posterboard and powerpoint on the impact/contributions that African Americans have made to our country's history.
