Darian Allen, a native of Southeast Texas, specifically Beaumont, Texas, is the youngest of three siblings. Throughout her high school years, Darian participated in a dual pharmacy technician program that would ensure completion and certification simultaneously with high school graduation. This was the initial step toward her pharmacy career path. Upon graduating from high school, Darian attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Darian quickly immersed herself in the Aggie culture, where they care for each other and serve theircommunity. She routinely participated in Texas A&M’s major community service projects, which helps members of the community rebuild homes. With her constant involvement in the community, Darian quickly learned how to truly serve others.
In 2016, Darian graduated from Texas A&M University with two Bachelors of Science Degrees in Biochemistry and Genetics. Thereafter, she was recruited to the University of Houston College of Pharmacy to start her journey of becoming a pharmacist. During her orientation week, Darian immediately fell in love with a certain organization that made her feel like she was at home with her family, Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA).
Darian began participating in their community service and professional development events. Towards the end of her first year, Darian was elected to be the 2017-2018 president of her chapter. During her time as chapter president, Darian inspired the team to be innovative and have fun while serving the underserved. Darian found her Strength in Purpose by inspiring others and help develop people. She looks forward to the opportunity of assisting others find their Strength in Purpose as she embraces her new position as the 2018-2019 National President-Elect!
