Legislative, Membership Benefits, and Immigration Chair
Myla Marshall was born and raised in the city of blues and soul - Memphis, Tennessee. While on a mission trip in Iquitos, Peru with her alma mater, Alabama State University, she realized her love for serving underserved patient populations and pharmacy. She chose to attend Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, AL where she is now a 3rd year student in a four-year program.
Myla has been able to serve in SNPhA on a variety of capacities while at Samford University. Since her P1 year, she has assumed the following roles: Chapter Vice President, Delegate, Legislative Chair, and National LMBI Subcommittee. Through these experiences, Myla has been able to showcase her love for cultivating healthcare through pharmacy advocacy while forming lifelong friendships and making meaningful network connections.
In addition to SNPhA, Myla is an active member in AMCP, Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society, and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. Myla also works as an intern at Walgreens Pharmacy and the McWhorter School of Pharmacy Research Program. Here she has been able to work vigorously on her studies surrounding nonsterile compounded medications and how their varying pharmaceutical properties affect patients. Myla’s future career goals include pharmacy advocacy, industry research, and administration. She is adamant in aiding in the refinement of healthcare while assuring optimal patient experiences.
As National Legislative, Membership Benefits, and Immigration Chair, Myla’s vision is to expand SNPhA globally and travel abroad to serve an array of patient populations. Through this year’s theme “Strength in Purpose”, she hopes to empower her peers by setting action to SNPhA’s resolutions to further impact her community and profession.
