Texas Southern University & University of Houston Work Together to Provide Patient Care
Bryan Figler, Vice President
The TSU SNPhA Chapter hosted a Chapter Achievement Partners (CAPs) event in collaboration with the University of Houston.
Chapter Achievement Partners (CAPs) is a program designed to promote active relations among SNPhA chapters and encourage collaboration on projects and sharing of ideas. Chapters are advised to communicate with others and strengthen networks in an effort to further the organization's mission as well as enhance individual chapters.
The two chapters worked together to provide direct patient care at the Health and Wellness fair at Riceville Baptist church. They served the members of the church by providing screenings for blood pressure and blood glucose. SNPhA members also educated patients on ways that they can make changes in their diet to help lower their blood pressure and blood glucose. This included how to portion their meals so that they are balanced in accordance with the American Diabetes Association. Keep up the great work TSU and UH!
